About Me

Dr. O’Brien is excited to rejoin the Capital Area Pediatrics team after recently returning to Northern Virginia. Dr. O’Brien, a board-certified pediatrician, completed her pediatric residency at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in 2005. She is a big University of Florida Gators fan -- she perfected her Gator chomp while completing two undergraduate degrees (1998) and her medical degree (2002) there. Dr. O’Brien’s pediatric interest includes dermatology, allergy/asthma, breastfeeding, and sleep issues.

Dr. O’Brien grew up in Pensacola, Florida. She and her husband have two very active boys ages 6 and 9, the eldest of whom underwent surgical repair for spina bifida before he was born (he’s doing great now). In her free time, she enjoys road-biking, yoga, and water sports.
