About Me

Prior to working at CAP, Penny worked as an Emergency Department Physician Assistant at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA and Sentara Lake Ridge Emergency Department in Lake Ridge, VA. Penny completed her Masters of Science Health Sciences - Physician Assistant degree at George Washington University in 2016. Penny's education included training at Children's National Medical Center, Inova Fairfax Hospital, and Dermatology and Plastic Surgery in Fairfax. She completed her undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in April 2000.

Areas of interest for Penny Atchley include pediatric dermatology, treatment of minor injuries and promoting healthy lifestyles for all children.

Penny grew up in Boise, Idaho and has lived in the West, Mid-West, East Coast and Europe. One of the highlights of the time between her undergraduate and graduate studies was the four years she and her family spent as ex-pats in Geneva, Switzerland. Penny and her husband have four children, two daughters and two sons, and live in Oakton where they enjoy spending time outdoors and playing with their dog Scout.
