About Lindsey Breznik

Dr. Lindsey Breznik (formerly Steding) is a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. Dr. Breznik provides behavioral assessment and therapy for children and adolescents. Her approach is considered evidence-based, meaning that she utilizes the best practices based upon current research evidence and she provides a variety of cognitive-behavioral and behavioral therapies based on the needs of the individual child and family. She specializes in working with children and adolescents presenting with externalizing behaviors (e.g., noncompliance, ADHD, tantrums/emotional outbursts, mild aggression, oppositional behavior), internalizing behaviors (e.g., generalized anxiety, social anxiety, selective mutism, and depression), and other concerning behaviors (e.g., sleep disruptions, toileting difficulties, eating difficulties, interpersonal problems) that affect child and family functioning.  Dr. Breznik has a passion for prevention; thus, she has obtained specialized training in working with toddlers and preschool children with a variety of behavioral difficulties.  She regularly collaborates with schools and other treatment providers to create a comprehensive approach to a child's care.  Further, Dr. Breznik has extensive experience and expertise in conducting psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments.  She offers these services for children, adolescents, and young adults and provides valuable, individualized recommendations for clients based on assessment results.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rollins College in 2006. She then taught kindergarten in the Orange County Public School System in Orlando, Florida for three years prior to attending graduate school.  Dr. Breznik received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Missouri State University in 2011 and her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2016. Dr. Breznik completed a clinical internship and a clinical postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute within Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.  She has worked in a variety of medical and mental health settings, including a university based community mental health center, an anxiety specialty clinic, children’s hospitals, and pediatric medical subspecialty clinics.  In addition, Dr. Breznik remains active in conducting research focused on positive parenting strategies, outcomes of parent training programs, and the importance of therapist-patient relationships.  She has been involved in several research projects, presented at numerous national conferences, and co-authored several journal articles.
