Lindsey Venesky, PhD, NCSP is a licensed psychologist and Clinical Director at Cognitive Behavior Institute. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, earning a Master’s of Education degree (MSEd) in child psychology and a PhD in school psychology. She completed her post-doctoral training at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC where her work focused on the evaluation and treatment of young children and their families, with a focus on those who have experienced trauma.
Dr. Venesky works with children, adolescents, and adults through individual and family therapy to address a variety of needs. She supports clients in addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, attachment issues, as well as a number of other life stressors. She has also received specialized training in evidence-based treatments, including Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response and Prevention (EXRP), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Alternatives for Families, A Cognitive Behavior Therapy (AF-CBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Dr. Venesky also is trained in adoption competency therapy and conducts psychological evaluations required for international adoptions.
Regardless of the treatment modality, Dr. Venesky strives to meet clients where they are and work within a trusting and collaborative relationship to make meaningful change in their lives. She is dedicated to supporting her clients as they navigate life’s challenges, heal from past experiences, and build a stronger, more fulfilling future.
