Niki Schlegel, MPAS, PA-C, is a nationally board-certified physician assistant with specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic pain conditions. She currently serves as a key clinical provider at Interventional Pain and Spine Center, where she blends her background in neurology with a passion for interventional pain medicine to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

A proud native of Western Pennsylvania, Niki grew up in Mars, PA, and graduated from Mars Area High School. She went on to attend Gannon University in Erie, PA, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and her Master of Physician Assistant Science degrees. She graduated in 2021 and brings extensive clinical experience in management of complex chronic neurological disorders. 

This strong neurological foundation has shaped her unique approach to pain management—one that considers the complex interplay between the nervous system and chronic pain. Her clinical interests include the treatment of headache disorders, particularly chronic migraines, and she is highly skilled in the use of botox for therapeutic migraine relief. Niki also evaluates and manages a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal and spine-related pain conditions using a holistic, multidisciplinary approach.

Niki is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of several leading professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Physician Associates, and the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience.

She believes that effective pain care starts with truly listening—understanding the patient’s story, their goals, and how pain is affecting their daily life. Her mission is to provide individualized care that not only relieves symptoms but also restores function and improves overall quality of life.

Whether managing long-standing back pain, neuropathic pain, or debilitating migraines, Niki takes a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to help patients regain control over their health and well-being.

Outside the Clinic

Outside of her clinical work, Niki enjoys golfing, skiing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She remains closely connected to her roots in Western Pennsylvania and is a proud and loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
